Pulong cites educators in Davao City for making learners competent

DAVAO CITY – Davao City Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte has cited educators here for raising making learners competent to promote innovation and positively aid the nation's post-pandemic recovery.

“With education and a strong drive to improve our way of life, I believe we can change the world,” said Rep. Duterte in a speech read for him by his son Rodrigo Duterte II during the kickoff of the Brigada Eskwela Thursday, August 4, at Apolinario Mabini Elementary School in Bangkal here.

After two years of restrictions, the Department of Education (DepEd) is conducting the 2022 Brigada Eskwela with the theme “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral” until August 26.

The Brigada Eskwela, known as the National Schools’ Maintenance Weeks, aims to bring together all education stakeholders to partake and contribute their time, effort, and resources to prepare public school facilities to be ready and safe for the opening of the school year on August 22.

Rodrigo II represented the young congressman invited to deliver a message to teachers, parents, volunteers, donors, and public and private stakeholders. He said his father could not attend the event due to prior commitments.

Rep. Duterte commended DepEd-Davao Director Allan Farnazo and the entire education leadership for spearheading the 2022 school year through this event and encouraged everyone to rally behind everyone’s effort to provide the best education for students.

The solon also lauded President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte who repeatedly emphasized the importance of making the learners ready for the outside world.

“With more than two years into this pandemic, we cannot afford to once again hold back and let Covid-19 get the best of us. Thank you. I hope I was able to inspire everyone. May God bless us all,” Rep. Duterte said.
