Imee tests positive for Covid-19

Senator Imee Marcos failed to physically attend the Senate plenary session Monday, Aug. 8, after she has been tested Covid-19 positive.

This was revealed Monday by Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri at the start of this week’s regular session of the 19th Congress.

Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva told this colleagues that Marcos had a ‘’raging fever’’ and that she would instead attend legislative activities virtually but ‘’off cam".

‘’I am listening and I hope to see you soon,’’ Marcos told Zubiri.

‘’We are all praying for you,’’ Villanueva told Marcos, who replied: ‘’Thank you.’’

In last week’s regular session, Senator Pia Cayetano told her colleagues that her brother, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, was Covid-19 positive.

Zubiri said 23 out of the 24 senators were physically present Monday.
