Cagayan logs 63 new Covid infections; active cases approaching 500 – PESU


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – Covid-19 cases in this province are approaching 500 as 63 new cases were recorded by the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) Saturday, July 6.

Cagayan has logged 493 Covid-19 cases in 26 municipalities and one city – Abulug, Alcala, Allacapan, Amulung, Aparri, Baggao, Ballesteros, Buguey, Camalaniugan, Claveria, Enrile, Gattaran, Gonzaga, Iguig, Lallo, Lasam, Pamplona, Penablanca, Rizal, Sanchez Mira, Solana, Sta. Ana, Sta. Teresita, Sto. Nino, Tuao, and this city.

No infections were recorded in Sta. Praxedes, Piat, and Calayan.

The Cagayan Provincial Information Office reported that 50 percent of Covid-19 positive are from here which remains the epicenter of the virus in this province.

There are 254 active Covid-19 cases in this city.

The provincial government reminded the public to comply with the minimum public health standards against Covid-19.

The Provincial Health Office urged people to vaccinate against Covid-19.

First booster shot is open for aged 12 and above while those from the A1, A2, and A3 priority groups can have their second booster shot.
