‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ top monthly box office in Korea in July
Tom Cruise’s “Top Gun: Maverick” and Chris Hemsworth’s “Thor: Love and Thunder” topped the monthly box office in South Korea for July with a combined gross of $62.26 million.
According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), which tracks box office receipts, “Top Gun: Maverick,” released in South Korea on June 22, is the No. 1 film in July with a gross of $39.76 million and total admissions of 4.86 million, translating to a revenue share of 30.52 percent for the month.

“Thor: Love and Thunder,” released on July 6, earned $22.49 million and sold 2.7 million in July in South Korea to place second with a revenue share of 17.26 percent.
The Korean movie “Hansan: Rising Dragon” placed third with $17.88 million in gross and 2.27 million in ticket sales.
“Minions: The Rise of Gru,” released on July 20, grossed $11.22 million based on 1.5 million in the number of tickets sold.
“Decision To Leave,” a Korean film released on June 29, grabbed fifth place with $11.95 million in revenue and 1.48 million tickets sold.
