The Department of Health (DOH) has set another daily vaccination target under the “PinasLakas” campaign to increase the Covid-19 vaccine booster uptake.

The PinasLakas campaign was launched last July 26 that aims to administer booster shots to at least 23 million individuals within the first 100 days of the Marcos administration or until Oct. 8.

The DOH's initial target was to give booster doses to about 397,000 people per day. However, during its first week of implementation, the PinasLakas fell short in meeting its daily target.

“Ang atin lang pong na-achieve from the day that we have launched hanggang sa ngayon ay 384,000 for the first boosters (Since its launch, we have only achieved 384,000 for the first booster),” said DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire on Friday, Aug. 5.

“So ngayon, inadjust na po natin ang targets natin...Kailangan na natin magbakuna ng first booster shots ng 443,892 per day hanggang sa Oct. 8 (So now, we have adjusted our targets...We need to administer first booster shots to 443,892 individuals per day until Oct. 8), she added.

In order to achieve their target, over 15,000 vaccination sites have been set up for this vaccination drive, said Vergeire.

“We have our vaccination sites as of August 4, we have a total of 15,468 vaccination sites which have been created or set up for our PinasLakas campaign,” she said.

Vergeire said 5,484 mobile vaccination sites have been set up, 2,814 vaccination sites in schools, 1,458 in workplaces, 529 in places of worship, 335 in the different markets, and 281 in transport terminals. Other vaccination sites are in hospitals or local health centers, said Vergeire.
