Film director Darryl Yap changes his mind and, this time, he finds award-winning veteran director Joel Lamangan selfish in his comments about his latest movie “Maid In Malacanang.”

Darryl poured out his emotions about Joel in the online show “The Interviewer” hosted by the King of Talk Boy Abunda now uploaded on YouTube.

In the interview, Darryl says that he’s starting to cast doubt if Joel is really superb following his remarks about his movie. His full reaction on the veteran director:

“Noong unang narinig ko yun, kinilig ako. Pero habang nagsi-sink in sa akin, I’m starting to think if he’s really magaling. I’m starting to think it that way.

I”m not saying it in a very mayabang manner, pero kasi isa ito sa mga heroes ko.

All artists are emotional. I get that.

Kasi everytime I make a statement kailangan merong para saan?

So I started doubting.

Kasi If you’re going to ask me I’m not hurt. Not a bit. I’m super kilig he’s saying ‘Maid in Malacanang.’ Puro na lang kayo ‘Maid in Malacanang,’ what’s the sense of that statement, ngayon ko lang ginawa ang ‘Maid in Malacanang’? Hindi pa kami nun nagpo-promote? Ang promotion ko teaser, sunod trailer.

“I find Direk Joel very selfish. It’s as if he has the monopoly on stories and the truth. No offense to other old people but I think he’s old na to do that.

When Boy says Direk Joel will watch “Maid In Malacanang,” Darryl reacts: “That’s the only thing na sinabi niya na maganda. Sana nauna niyang sinabi yun bago siya na-comment. The damage is really in his part. I don’t get it. Joel Lamangan na siya.”

Direk Joel has earlier vowed to produce a film to counter Darryl’s “Maid In Malacanang,” a dramedy about the last 72 hours of the Marcoses in Malacanang before they fled to Hawaii in 1986.

Maraming ayaw po, iyon ang totoo,” says Direk Joel, whose latest film “Biyak” is now streaming on Vivamax.
