Tuguegarao City Health Office suspends services as 2 employees catch Covid

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The City Health Office (CHO) has suspended some services until August 8 after two employees tested positive for Covid-19.

The City Information Office (CIO) said that the issuance of health certificates and health cards, including dental services, and issuance of PWD medical certificates are temporarily suspended.

However, the public may access barangay health stations in their barangays for immediate and urgent health concerns, the CIO said.

Some services will continue as usual but these will temporarily cater to a limited number of patients until Monday, August 8.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but as health officers, the office suggests that necessary measures be done to make sure that no further contamination of Covid-19 in the office will be recorded,” the CHO added.

Meanwhile, 19,217 Covid-19 cases have been reported here with 255 active as of Wednesday, August 3.

The CHO said 18,347 have recovered while 615 died.

The increase in cases has prompted Mayor Maila Ting-Que to warn people not to be complacent about the threat of Covid-19.

She urged the public to properly adhere to minimum public health standards at all times such as wearing facemask and hand washing or using alcohol or alcogels.

“Do physical distance, avoid crowded places. When you feel symptoms, ISOLATE IMMEDIATELY and get tested at the nearest testing centers in your area. Let's stop the spread of Covid-19 together for everyone's safety.”
