Metro Manila’s healthcare utilization for Covid-19 cases has climbed to 36.5 percent from 31.7 percent in the previous week, based on the OCTA Research Group’s report on Tuesday, August 2.

In an update shared on Twitter, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said that while the healthcare utilization rate went up to 36.5 percent, it is still below 50 percent.

This means that the number of Covid cases admitted in hospitals is still manageable.

Metro Manila’s intensive care unit (ICU) utilization rate also remained below 50 percent—currently at 26.9 percent from 27.3 percent in the previous week.

However, David noted that the ICU utilization rate in Capiz rose to 71.4 percent from 42.9 percent.

The province’s healthcare utilization rate also increased from 34.1 percent to 44.6 percent.

“In Iloilo and Bohol, HCUR (healthcare utilization rate) remained above 50 percent ,” David said.
