MB Daily News Update: P4.1-billion ‘ayuda’ for poor families released


The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released P4.13 billion to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which will be utilized for the agency’s targeted cash transfer (TCT) program that will directly benefit about four million poor Filipino families.

A day after President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. took a stand and rejected any need for the Philippines to become a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC) anew, Malacañang underscored that the investigation into the drug war was already part of the justice system of the country.

The government also assuaged any fears or apprehension that the public may have against the monkeypox situation, saying that borders will not be closed and classes will not be suspended on account of the virus.

The Department of Health (DOH) said it has detected the presence of the BA.275 subvariant, while reporting more cases of other Omicron subvariant cases in the country.
