The handcrafted bags house the hotel’s signature mooncakes
To celebrate Filipino creativity and craftsmanship, Conrad Manila unveils its collaborative effort with fashion and design powerhouse Rags2Riches for the coming Mid-Autumn Festival with the theme of “Prosperity.” This year’s celebration also stands as an homage to the six outstanding Filipinos recognized as Champions of Sustainability by the award-winning hotel.
“We are celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with gratitude for the bounty of the year that has been to our guests, our patrons, our team members, government leaders, and community partners. We did it with our corporate vision to spread the light and move the hospitality and passion to make a difference in the market we serve,” tells Linda Pecoraro, Conrad Manila’s general manager, during the recent hybrid launch event.
“We’re turning on the spotlight on the Filipino bounty of produce, born from the nation’s hard work and ingenuity,” she continues. “We celebrate this festival to highlight the Philippine culture. We could not have achieved joyful prosperity without the inspiration of industry and community leaders who are with us today in our longest and sincere tribute to the individual achievements. I’m referring to our circle of six champions of sustainability, representing Conrad Manila’s six years of prosperous operations.”
The six Champions of Sustainability are Honorable Lucy Torres-Gomez, Joanne Rae Ramirez, Ana Patricia Non, Ann Dumaliang, Illac Diaz, and Leeroy New.
Coming together for a purposeful project, the Conrad Manila team and Rags2Riches—led by artisan Reese Fernandez Ruiz—created special handcrafted bags in two signature colors of Periwinkle Blue and Coral. Each bag is packed with the mooncakes prepared by China Blue by Jeremy Leung Executive Chef Eng Yew Khor.
“We’re very proud to be partners of Conrad Manila. I think with our shared values of sustainability, community passion, and just creating or upholding Filipino culture and tradition, we came up with this amazing collection. I’m very excited to launch this with six sustainability advocates that we’re awarding as well,” Reese tells.
