Plains and Prints’ collaborates with Rosanna Ocampo on an anniversary collection

As part of the 27th anniversary of Plains & Prints, the local women’s clothing line revealed its partnership project with fashion designer Rosanna Ocampo at the 1120 House in Makati City in early July.
Although it was raining outside, the showcase underscored tones reminiscent of tropical colors commonly seen on the streets of Havana, Cuba, to which guests were transported.
In its launch in 1994, the label vowed to offer Filipinas timeless, classic, and elegant pieces, and has since successfully developed into one of the best-loved homegrown brands for women’s apparel and fashion accessories.
“This collab makes sense. It just feels right. Rosanna’s designs are so in sync with our brand and our mission. I’m excited to introduce the collection to our discerning patrons,” says Roxanne Farillas, Plains & Prints owner.

The tie-up features 11 pieces consisting of three tops, four dresses, three coordinates, and one bottom.
For more formal events, the lineup includes outfit with neutral tones. Intricate embroidery details, geometric prints, and asymmetrical cuts blur the lines between relaxed and dressy, making it easy to transition from one occasion to another.
‘I think when you reach a certain age, you’re already so confident in your own skin to wear a lot of colors and all these details, which means you already know who you are.’
“My inspiration revolves around color, prints, and textures. I love ‘more is more,’” says Rosanna, who studied and trained in one of Milan’s top global fashion schools, the Istituto Marangoni. She took it upon herself to create ensembles that empower girl bosses to do what they do best while looking feminine and sensual.

“When I was asked to do this collaboration, I just wanted it to be a continuous process of what I already normally do. I think when you reach a certain age, you’re already so confident in your own skin to wear a lot of colors and all these details, which means you already know who you are,” she explains.
The brand’s muse Anne Curtis wore a jade-colored dress with an asymmetrical skirt from the collection.
Among the key personalities, empowered women in the lifestyle industry, who attended the event were Solenn Heussaff, Alexandra Rocha Araneta, Kelly Misa Fernandez, and beauty queen turned news anchor Emma Tiglao.
As the local retail brand stays true to its reputation of being one of the best in ready-to-wear for the modern Filipina, the collection offers a wide range of colors, textures, and prints, from which women of every size, shape, and sensibility can find something that seems tailor-fit for them. —Diann Calucin
