The Vigan Cathedral in Ilocos Sur will be temporarily closed to the public.
The Cathedral announced its temporary closure Wednesday,July 27,following the magnitude 7 earthquake that hit different parts of Luzon.
The temblor damaged several churches including Vigan Cathedral.
"We wait for the pronouncement from the structural engineers that it is safe to use it for our Eucharistic celebrations. Please pray for all Bigueños," the Cathedral said in a Facebook post.
On Wednesday, the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia also posted pictures of churches in Ilocus Sur damaged by the earthquake.
Among these churches are the Our Lady of Hope Parish in Sta Maria, Santo Domingo de Guzman in Sto. Domingo, St. Joseph the Worker Parish in San Jose,Sta. Cruz; and the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Narvacan.
