" very good. He showed himself to be a very good statesman, he was elegant in his ways, he was very gentlemanly, he was very clear," Roman said early Monday evening, July 25, or just a few hours after Marcos delivered his speech at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.

Roman said the Chief Executive’s 73-minute SONA was "a good projection of what our nation is and should be to the entire world".

"I'm proud to say that our president is President Bongbong Marcos. Nakaka-proud bilang Isang Pilipino na magkaroon ng pangulo na katulad ni Bongbong Marcos (As a Filipino, it makes me proud to have a president like Bongbong Marcos)," said the lady lawmaker, who made headlines in the previous 18th Congress by becoming the first ever elected transgender solon in the Philippines.

Another trait that Roman liked about the 64-year-old leader was his obvious love for family and country.

"More than yung (the) love within the family, I think I also felt, kaya medyo teary-eyed siya,.ang pagmamahal niya sa ating bansa (that's why he was a bit teary-eyed, his love for our country). And that is something na hindi natin matatawaran, hindi mape-presyuhan (that's something we can never diminish or put a price on)," she said.
