In a rare instance, re-elected Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto talked about his relationship with his parents and half-siblings.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, the 33-year-old noted how supportive both Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes are with regards to his career.
Vico related how Coney is quite understanding given his busy schedule.
But did Coney ever sulk over him being too busy?
Pero again, very understanding si Mama."
Vico also explained why he just can't go with his family on vacations explaining how he keeps his focus mainly on his many responsibilities as mayor.
Note he has yet to go on a vacation since he became a Mayor.
"More than 3 years na," he said.
Then Ogie asked if it is by choice.
"Oo," he answered, adding in jest: "Sino ba sisihin ko?"
So gagawin ko yan."
He pointed out: "Maiksi lang three, six, nine years.
Though Vico reiterated he makes it a point to find time for his family as much as he can.
He hopes that now that he's on his second term, he'll be able to make it up to them.
In the same interview, Vico also opened up about how close he is to his half-siblings.
"Well, laking nanay ako, so talagang mas close ako kay Kuya LA (Mumar) at Ate Carla (Mumar). Sila kasama ko sa bahay nung lumalaki," he said.
"Sila Ate Danica, and Kuya Oyo, pati si Paulina - nagkikita kami nun dati every Saturday.
LA and Carla are Coney's children from ex-husband and late PBA player Larry Mumar. While Danica and Oyo are Vic's kids with ex-wife Dina Bonnevie.
Paulina, on the other hand, is Vic's daughter with former partner, actress-model Angela Luz.
Currently, Vic is married to actress Pauleen Luna. They have a four-year-old daughter, Tali.
Vico was also asked if he feels pressured to give his parents grandkids.
"Hayaan mo sila," he told Ogie. So dito, kailangan kong mag-focus ngayon."
So he won't be single forever, Ogie asked.
"Maiksi lang naman ang term ng Mayor. There's a time for everything, ika nga," Vico said.
"Tingnan natin. Ang hirap magsalita ng tapos e. Basta ako, naniniwala ako sa 'Making the most of where you are right now.' We will do our best, kumbaga, kung nasaan tayo ngayon..."
In terms of him not talking about his love life, Vico explained, "Nung bago akong mayor, maraming nagtatanong.
"Yun yung reason. It's not because I don't want to answer.
