Danao lauds men for peaceful, orderly voter registration

Police Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao, Jr., officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police (PNP), lauded his men for the peaceful and successful conduct of the voter registration across the country.

The voter registration ended on Saturday and Danao said it was peaceful and orderly.

PNP OIC Police Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao, Jr.

“We are glad that despite the long queue in COMELEC (Commission on Election) offices and off-site registration areas, the applicants were patient enough in waiting for their turn,” said Danao.

Comelec, based on its practice, would prepare for the last day of registration with a pre-positioned system flow.

“We were tasked to assist in the security and respond to emergencies. Fortunately, no untoward incident was recorded,” Danao said

The PNP also attributed this to the display of discipline among those who had themselves registered during the last day.

Senior Citizens, Persons with Disabilities and pregnant women were given priority.
