Las Piñas health team conducts parenthood and family planning lectures

The Las Piñas City Health Office Family Planning team gave lectures and seminars on responsible parenting and family planning to the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps.

The CHO team first visited and conducted lectures at Barangay Almanza Uno covered court on Friday, July 22.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the activity aimed at improving the health of every family, especially the mothers, through proper family planning and during pregnancy.

Aguilar said the lectures given by the CHO team will also help parents to responsibly decide on the number and spacing of their children.

She said family planning is not a prognosis imposed on parents but it is an expression of responsible parenting based on the choices and decisions of couples to achieve their desired family size based on their social and economic capacity.

The mayor said the city government also offers progestin-only subdermal implant, a long-acting reversible contraceptives to mothers who want to have protection from unexpected pregnancies.

Aguilar said the process will provide a mother three years of protection to avoid unplanned pregnancies.

She said the program is also part of her administration’s “Tuloy Tuloy na Serbisyo sa Pangkalusugan.”

The mayor added the CHO Family Planning team will continue to go around the city’s 20 barangays to continue giving lectures on responsible parenting and family planning.
