Grab driver, coffee shop manager arrested in Benguet buy-bust

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Benguet Provincial Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera arrested a Grab driver and a coffee shop manager in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Puguis here Tuesday, July 19.

The suspects were identified as Randall Lee Pulacan Dominguez, 33, alias “Noynoy,” Grab driver, of Poblacion, Bauko, Mountain Province and Dizon Subdivision, Baguio City, and Gianne Salucan Laca, 24, coffee shop manager, of Barangay San Vicente, San Fernando City, La Union

Police Col. Reynaldo Pasiwen, Benguet police director, said Dominguez is a high value individual and had been under police monitoring for selling shabu as a Grab driver. His accomplice, Laca, on the other hand, is a street-level individual in the illegal drugs trade.

Dominguez was arrested when he sold 3.36 grams of suspected shabu worth P22,848 to a poseur buyer. A plastic sachet containing 0.54 grams of shabu worth P3,672 was found in Laca's possession.

The suspects yielded the buy-bust money, cellphones, brown wallet containing assorted IDs and cash, a red pouch containing a bunch of keys and cash, a blue red lighter, and ATM and credit cards.

The buy-bust operation was witnessed by Barangay Puguis Chairman Tyron Diaz and Prosecutor Jonjon Amcay, Department of Justice representative.
