Six K-pop groups emerged in the top 10 of album sales in the US in the first half of 2022.
Luminate (formerly P-MRC Data), which supplies Billboard with music data for its charts, has released its 2022 “Luminate Midyear Music Report” covering the US.
In the report’s Midyear Charts in the US, K-pop boy band BTS, Stray Kids, Tomorrow X Together (TXT), Seventeen, NCT 127 and ENHYPEN emerged in the top 10.
Under Top Albums based on total sales in the US in the first half of 2022, BTS placed second with “Proof,” released on June 10, selling 335,000.
Stray Kids ranked sixth with their “Oddinary” album garnering 173,000 in sales.
Tomorrow X Together placed 10th with their “Minisode 2: Thursday's Child” selling 152,000.
Under the Top CD Album Sales in the US in the first half of 2022, BTS’ “Proof” ranked No. 1 with 328,000 in sales followed by Stray Kids in second place with “Oddinary” posting 171,000 in sales.
Tomorrow X Together’s “Minisode 2: Thursday's Child” placed fourth with 150,000 in sales while Seventeen’s “Face the Sun” album ranked eighth with 74,000.
NCT 127’s “Sticker” album is in ninth place with 66,000 in sales followed by ENHYPEN’s “Dimension: Answer” in 10th place with 57,000.
