GOSSIP GIRL: Pokwang admits breakup with former husband Lee O'Brian, stars give moral support

Pokwang

The week before comedienne Pokwang came out in social media, I had an inkling that she was having marital problems because she suddenly changed her Pok-Lee products to Mamang Pokwang. Pok-Lee is a combination of Mamang Pokwang’s name and Papang Lee O’Brian, her husband. But now it is just stand alone “MamangPokwang”. Mamang Pokwang are food products the comedienne herself manufactures like  gourmet tinapa, gourmet tuyo, laing, chili garlic aligue, garlic aligue, and special suka.

I texted her and offered prayers and she answered me with a confirmation, “Thank you mare, okay na si mamang… hahaha…Nilinis ni God and dadaanan ko papunta sa blessings bukod sa mga anak ko at sa mga kagaya mo. Salamat, maraming Salamat.” (Thank you friend, Mamang is okey already. God has cleared my path to blessings like my children and friends like you. Thank you very much.)"

Last Sunday, she finally came out in social media with the heartbreaking news of her separation. But reading her message, the talented comedienne looks like she has been healed of all the pain and sorrow. “Yes, it has been seven months since tapusin naming ni papang ang lahat, pero maayos at mapayapa.” Pokwang adds in her Instagram post that aside from separating amicably and peacefully, she and her estranged husband Lee o’Brian will both fulfill their duties to their daughter Malia O’brian. She also thanked her mother, Nanay Gloria, for being her inspiration to become  a strong woman. Pokwang thanks her mother Gloria for being her spirit guide and tells her mom that she and Malia will always pray for her. Pokwang lost her mother last October 2020.

Stars showed support and love for the comedienne’s post. Singer Vina Morales offered her prayers and love, since she is also a proud single mom. Melai Cantiveros, Arlene Muhlach, Rodjun Cruz, Rabiya Matteo, Agot Isidro, Geneva Cruz, Jopay Paguia Zamora, Dianne Medina, Pia Magalona, CJ Super Hirro, Bing Loyzaga, and many others poured their love and empathy to what the comedienne is going through.

The actress - comedienne concludes in her post, she advises all single parents not to get tired for the sake of their children. She tells them that an ended relationship is not karma. Instead, the experience makes you stronger and prepares you for better things ahead of you. And indeed, better things are ahead of her. The comedian’s new television show on GMA, TiktoClock, will premiere on July 25. TiktoClock is a variety show hosted by Pokwang, Rabiya Matteo and Kuya Kim Atienza.  The comedian will also be having a U.S. concert tour with her best friend "Sing-Galing" host K Brosas in two weeks. Here are the schedules for our readers in the East Coast: Shriver hall Auditorium Baltimore, July 23; Stafford Civic Center, Texas, July 29; and Ridglea Theater, Texas, July 30.

Mamang Pokwang, I just want to let you know that we are here for you and will continue to support you. Knowing your faith in God, I know that you have exhausted all efforts to save your marriage, but there are things that need to be cleared away for your true destiny to manifest.
