“Sparing 15 minutes of your time can save at least three lives,” said Vergeire in a recent press briefing.

Vergeire noted that donating blood gives more benefits than harm.

“Mas maraming benepisyo kesa peligro ang buhat ng pagbibigay ng dugo kagaya po ng lowering the risk of heart attack, reducing the chances of cancer, at pagkakaroon po ng better mental state (Donating blood provides more benefits than harm, such as lowering the risk of heart attack, reducing the chances of cancer, and having a better mental state),” she said.

The Health official encouraged the public to visit the official Facebook page of the DOH- National Voluntary Blood Services Program (NVBSP) at facebook.com/doh.nbvsp to learn more about this initiative.

“Be a life saver, not only in July, but throughout the year by joining the initiatives of the DOH-NVBSP,” said Vergeire.
