More than P780K worth of shabu seized, 5 suspects nabbed in QC buy-busts

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives seized a total of P782,000 worth of alleged shabu and arrested five suspects in two separate buy-bust operations in the city on Tuesday, July 6.

The QCPD Masambong Station (PS 2) led by Lt. Col. Imelda Reyes conducted the first entrapment operation in front of an apartment on FPJ St. in Brgy.Katipunan at around 1 a.m. Tuesday, which led to the arrest of three suspects, including a high-value individual (HVI).

Police said that the suspects — Amor Furagganan, 44, the HVI and a resident of Barangay. Baesa, QC; Ronald Pedrito, 29; and Kharmjit Singhparmar, both of Barangay Bahay Toro, QC — yielded 500 grams of shabu worth P680,000.

Another buy-bust operation launched by the QCPD Talipapa Station (PS 3) at NDR, Brgy. Unang Sigaw resulted in the confiscation of P102,000 worth of shabu.

Fifteen grams of the said illegal drug were confiscated from suspects Marvin Amaro, 35, and John Christopher Arpon, 23, of Barangay Baesa, at around 12:30 a.m. on the same day, police said.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

QCPD director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina said that the city police force continues to strengthen its anti-illegal drugs drive.
