In a statement on Thursday, July 7, Comelec Acting Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the en banc directed the Office of the Deputy Executive Director for Operations and the Election and Barangay Affairs Department to coordinate with all field offices to address the long queues as well as ensure implementation of minimum public health standards in all voter registration sites.

The en banc, he said, also directed all Offices of Election Officers (OEOs) to enhance their off-site and satellite registration activities, with malls in particular.

Laudiangco said this is "for better public convenience and safety."

Lastly, the Comelec en Banc ordered the continuation of public information drives on the voter registration period.

Voter registration for the Dec 5, 2022 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls resumed last July 4 and will end on 23.
