The 17-year-old junior sensation dug deep into her bag of tricks to overcome a second set stumble and advance to the second round of the $25,000 tournament.

The victory set up Eala a meeting with Australia’s Alexandra Bozovic, who advanced after third seed Mariam Bolkvadze of Georgia retired while trailing 5-0.

Eala and Bozovic have never met in the ITF women’s circuit before, but the Filipino bet boasts of a higher ranking at 337 compared to the Australian’s 466.

Bozovic has yet to win a pro title while Eala is in search for her third overall after winning the W25 Chiang Rai early this year and the W15 Manacor last year.

Eala is also competing in the doubles event with Fil-Aussie Lizette Cabrera where they won via default in the opening round against Brazil’s Mariana Galvao Borges and Portugal’s Maria Beatriz Teixeira.

They clash Lithuania’s Justina Mikulskyte and Hong Kong’s Hon Yi Cody Wong in the quarterfinals.
