After completing his three-year term as Mayor of Taguig City, Director Lino Cayetano is now all set for his showbiz comeback. (dahil dyan kunin nyo po bilang sexy lead actress!) He recently met with some showbiz reporters headed by his good friend Nay Lolit Solis whom he first met when he was starting his career as director for GMA7’S artista search, Starstruck. (close ba talaga?!)
“Dun kami nagkita ni Nay Lolit at lagi kong binabalikan balikan yun. Kasi sa ngayon marami pa ring Filipino talent that is untapped around the country and even overseas. that’s what we want to develop. Hanapin at idevelop pa lalo mga talented Filpinos all over the world. We hope to feature it sa mga kwentong ikukuwento natin,” Direk Lino says. (parang gusto kong madevelop sayo direk!)
He admits that he thought of staying in politics, but he could still feel his passion for the entertainment industry. (I can feel you po.. )
“Tingin ko nagawa ko naman trabaho ko. maganda yung kinatatayuan ng Taguig. I was planning to stay longer in Taguig, mga 6 years or 9 years para malatag ko mga gusto natin. Pero isang partido naman kami. Kaya nung sinabi nila na Mayor Lani wants to come back, madali ko namang natanggap na mag-give way. Inisip ko rin at pinagdasal ko if tatakbo ba ako sa kongreso o ibang posisyon. Pero naexcite ako na yung mga experience ko madala ko naman dito sa industryang mahal ko. “ Direk Lino shares. Direk Lino will be focusing on producing, directing and creating content via REIN Entertainment, a production company which he co-founded with Direk Shugo Praico and Direk Philip King years ago. It has produced several series and films on different platforms. One of them is the acclaimed socio political thriller: Bagman. (gawan mo si Nay Lolit. The Baglady!)

The multi-talented director believes that showbiz may be in a challenging situation now, but it still has so many opportunities. “Dati kasi, napakastrikto, di ka pwede sa ibang network kasi dito ka lang dapat. Pero ngayon mas maraming flexibility. there’s so much mobility, tingin ko maganda yan para sa ating lahat.“ (im flexible direk!)
Direk Lino and REIN Entertaniment are currently partnering with different investors and industry leaders to produce more movies and series. (pwede po kita maging partner direk?!)
