China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo, and gave the assurance that China will work with the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in all areas of comprehensive, strategic partnership. He also commended Marcos’ “friendly policy” towards the Chinese government.
The flurry of activity in Malacañang continued with Marcos meeting with health officials amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases. The Chief Executive also expressed his desire that a mass vaccination of students be held ahead of face-to-face classes this August.
Marcos was also set to meet with Wang later in the day.
Vice President Sara Duterte was also on heavy work mode as she met with education officials anew to discuss the budget of the Department of Education (DepEd), which she is leading in a concurrent capacity. The Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) satellite offices have also started to roll out social services to Filipinos.
