On Twitter, netizens shared their views, suggestions, and opinions on the subject matter after actress Ella Cruz, in an interview, talked about the lessons she learned after filming “Maid in Malacañang.”

Cruz played the role of Irene Marcos, the third child of the late President Ferdinand Marcos. She was quoted in an interview saying: “History is like tsismis. It is filtered and dagdag na rin, so, hindi natin alam what is the real history. Andoon na iyong idea, pero may mga bias talaga. As long as we’re here alive at may kanya-kanyang opinion, I respect everyone’s opinion.”

Some netizens like could not help but express disappointment in how the actress viewed history.

A Twitter user with the handle @_ligayaxx said: “I am a history major student and just to clarify, we do not go to our campus or museum just to flock and talk about "chismis". We study really hard everyday thru reading and authenticating data to give the rightful information and preserve history.

@dimpol014, on the other hand, said: “Nag effort pa akong mag aral sa subject kong araling panlipunan tapis tsismis lang pala.”

For @iamjanep, the actress needs study Social Studies once again saying that: “girl tigil tigilan mo na kakaliyad ha. mag aral ka ulit ng Araling Panlipunan at mag research ka ng history. magtanong ka sa mga nabiktima ng ML.”

@wennconcepcion and @ouratelady also poked fun at Cruz by saying: “from araling panlipunan to araling panchismis hahahahahaha” and “chismisan lang pala araling panlipunan class mo sayo beh,” respectively.

Aside from Araling Panlipunan, “Open the Schools” also became a trending topic on Twitter.

A Twitter user with the handle @AltStarMagic said: “Ella Cruz is the true definition of 'OPEN THE SCHOOLS' nkklk.”

@AstridL63768953 also told the actress: “History is not like chismis, Hija. Please open the schools now. Nakakahiya.” @hearts4kirdpan and @GRODYBUGZ said that the recent incident is “is worse than majoha” as they call on the government to “open the schools.” Related to this, “MaJoHa” also trended as some netizens compared this to the “MaJoHa” incident.

In April, a teen housemate in the reality show mistakenly called the three Filipino martyred priests (Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora) or collectively known as “GomBurZa” as “MaJoHa.”
