CSB mauls San Sebastian to keep spotless record


College of St. Benilde mauled San Sebastian, 25-11, 25-22, 25-14, Friday to keep its record immaculate in NCAA women’s volleyball at the Paco Arena in Manila.

The Lady Blazers hardly broke a sweat in dispatching the Lady Stags, needing only 64 minutes to extend their winning streak to six games.

Jade Gentapa starred for St. Benilde with 17 points including 15 kills, while Jhasmin Pascual added 13 points, all coming from attacks.

The Lady Blazers set the tone early with a 12-2 lead in the opening set and never looked back despite the persistent efforts of the Lady Stags.

They also showed their offensive brilliance by firing 48 kills against San Sebastian’s 24.

Mycah Go also stepped up for St. Benilde with nine points while Michelle Gamit and Cristy Ondangan combined for 10 points.

Cloanne Mononedo also spelled the difference with 17 excellent sets on top of five points compared to the overall output of San Sebastian, which managed only eight sets.

San Sebastian skidded to its second loss against four wins despite Katherine Santos and Bianca Ordona finishing 10 points apiece.
