Nueva Ecija buy-bust yields P1-M marijuana


BRICKS of suspected marijuana valued at P1 million were seized in a buy-bust operation in Nueva Ecija Tuesday, June 28.
CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police arrested three alleged drug pushers and seized over P1-million worth of suspected marijuana in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion 1, Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija Tuesday, June 28.

Police identified the suspects as Eddie Boy Pabia, 21; Aila Cab, 22, vendor; and Jeric John Pabia, 21, construction worker, all residents of Barangay San Josef, Peñaranda.

Recovered from them were 11 bricks of cling wrapped dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops and two rounds of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops weighing more or less 10 kilograms with an estimated street value of P1.2 million and P1,000 marked money.

Charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against the suspects are being readied for court referral.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-3 director Police Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay said that the PRO-3 is continuously conducting proactive operations to invigorate its efforts to wipe out all forms of illegal drugs to achieve its quest for a drug-free Central Luzon.
