MB Daily News Update: PBBM shares hopes, dreams in inaugural address

The Philippines welcomed its 17th President in Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. with a mix of pageantry and tradition, as he called for unity and assured the Filipino people that he will join them in making their dreams come true for the country.

In his inaugural address, Marcos said he will focus on agriculture and food security, labor, and education, an assertion that drew praises from the senators.

Filipinos were also given a glimpse of the closeness of the First Family as they saw how Marcos, his wife Liza and children Zandro, William, and Simon often held hands, shared small talk, and just basked in the celebration.

Many of those who braved the balmy weather to witness the historic event said they hoped Marcos will continue what predecessor Rodrigo Roa Duterte had started during his term.
