15 PDLs freed from Davao Prison

Fifteen more persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were released last June 25 from the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte.

DPFF said that 14 of those freed had served their prison terms while one had been acquitted of his criminal charges.

Last June 22, DPFF said it released a total of 28 PDLs. From January 1 to May 30, 2022, DPFF said it had freed a total of 392 PDLs.

Those released include 39 inmates in January, 59 in February, 117 in March, 43 in April, and 134 in May.

In 2021, DPPF freed a total of 838 PDLs who were among the 4,610 PDLs released from the seven prison facilities of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) nationwide.

Aside from the DPPF, BuCor’s other prison facilities are the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City, Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, and Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte.
