Before this, Robes hosted a luncheon for the 64-year-old incoming leader that was attended by the solons and local officials, including 22 Bulacan mayors. These local chief executives were instrumental in drumming up support for the former Ilocos Norte governor's Palace bid.

The lawmakers who took parts in the luncheon were Rep. Macnell Lusotan, Marino Party-list; Rep. Sandra Eriguel, 2nd district, La Union; Rep. Ambrocio "Boy" Cruz, 5th district, Bulacan; Rep. Salvador "Ador" Pleyto, 6th district, Bulacan; and Rep. Glona Labadlabad, 2nd district, Zamboanga del Norte.

Also in attendance were Rep. Luisa Lloren "Banti" Cuaresma, lone district, Nueva Vizcaya; Rep. Richard Gomez, 4th district, Leyte; and Rep. Divina Grace Yu, 1st district, Zamboanga del Sur.
