List of road closures during President BBM’s inauguration


On June 30, 2022, President-elect Ferdinand ‘Bong Bong’ Romualdez Marcos, Jr. will be inaugurated as the President of the Philippines. The ceremony will be held at the National Museum of Fine Arts where he will take his oath of office.

In preparation for this event the City of Manila, along with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be closing several streets.

Road closures begin as early as June 26, 2022, with the following roads closed to traffic starting at 12:01 AM. They will remain closed until June 30, 2022. These are Padre Burgos Avenue, Finance Road, Ma. Orosa Street (from T.M. Kalaw to P. Burgos), and General Luna Street (from P. Burgos to Muralla Street). Then on June 29, Mendiola Street will be closed to all vehicles beginning at 12:01 AM.

On the day of the inauguration itself, the following streets will not be accessible to all types of vehicles: Ayala Boulevard, Victoria Street (from Taft Ave. to Muralla Street), and Jalandoni Street PICC, Pasay City will not be open to the public starting at 4:00 AM. Meanwhile, Legarda Street (from San Rafael to Figueras Street) and C.M. Recto Ave. (from S.H. Loyola to Mendiola) will only be closed to traffic starting at 1:00 PM.

Outgoing Manila City Mayor, Isko Moreno, has already declared that June 30 will be a special non-working holiday to give way to the upcoming Presidential Inauguration.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) have announced these road closures earlier and even provide maps of the restricted areas.

Those that plan to go to Manila during this week are advised to expect heavy traffic.
