The Filipina cagebelles shook off some opening game jitters before pulling away in the second half as Fil-American Gabriella Ramos introduced herself in a rousing fashion after exploding for 27 points and 20 rebounds to power the Gilas’ rout of the Indonesian side.

She was backstopped by Kristan Geyl Yumul who finished with 20 markers built on six three-pointers.

After trailing at the end of the first quarter, 17-21, and holding on to a six-point cushion, 45-39, at the half, the Filipinas went on a scoring spree in the second half and started to break the game wide open in the third frame behind the scintillating performance from Yumul and Ramos.

Gilas led by as many as 20, 70-50, towards the end of the third canto following a huge 20-5 blast that turned a tight 50-45 contest early on into a total domination for the Filipinas. That run proved to be the telling rally for Gilas as it easily cruised to the victory in the final frame.

Angelica Candra paced the Indonesians with 16 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort.

Up next for Gilas is Syria on Saturday at 8:45 p.m.
