Taliño–Mendoza bares 12-point agenda for Cotabato


KIDAPAWAN CITY – Cotabato Provincial Governor Emmylou ‘Lala’ J. Taliño–Mendoza bared a 12–point agenda for the next 100 days in support of sustainable development as she underscored her readiness to lead the province.

Taliño–Mendoza presented the 12-point priority agenda during her inauguration at the Provincial Gymnasium in Barangay Amas, Kidapawan City on June 20, Monday. Taliño–Mendoza is the 25th elected governor of the province.

She said that the program includes people’s participation and empowerment; women, persons with disabilities (PWDs), senior citizens, LGBTQIA empowerment plus programs and its benefits; social services; and cultural preservation and peace treaty.

Taliño–Mendoza also vowed to work on health and protection against infectious disease; disaster preparedness, responses and resilience; agricultural productivity and livelihood; infrastructure & barangay development; eco-tourism; education; youth empowerment and sports development; and moral recovery, good governance, accountability and transparency.

In line with her 12-point priority agenda, the governor aims to create a people’s council, organize a political and barangay affairs office that will assist in the identification of issues and concerns in the province, designate provincial focal persons for women, senior citizens, PWDs, and LGBTQIA.

Taliño–Mendoza also aims to give cash for work for tree planting, community farming/ gardening; acquisition of lots for housing projects, particularly for the victims of various calamities; and form a technical working group for the Implementing Rules and Regulation (IRR) of Moro and IP Code.

She also intends to rehabilitate the Madrasah school; launching of Friends of Mental Health, Free Dialysis, Task Force Hapsay Kalsada, and Moral Recovery programs; the operation of quarantine facilities; and retooling for senior high school teachers, among other several projects.

“As your governor, I urge all the officials and employees to take this opportunity to discharge our duties well under my leadership,” said Taliño-Mendoza said as she thanked God, her family and all his supporters.

“Despite the tests that are expected to come, expecting nothing but good conscience as our only reward,” added Taliño–Mendoza.

Taliño–Mendoza said that her 12–point agenda will impact the budget, legislation, programs and projects, and policies of the province as they move to the next phase of the transition period. All these agenda, she said, is because she believed that public service is all about serving the people.

Taliño–Mendoza, with her daughter, Cotabato Province 3rd District Representative Ma. Alana Samantha Taliño-Santos and husband, Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) President Raymond Democrito Mendoza, took their oath on Monday before Judge Lily Lydia Laquindanum.
