Nathzz, Demonkite get last laugh against hostile crowd in Malaysia

Under the pressure of competition and seated against a hostile crowd that hurled jeers and boos toward the PH representatives, RSG Philippines’ Nathanael “Nathzz” Crisologo and Jhonard “Demonkite” Caranto were glad to get the last laugh after claiming the title in MSC 2022.

After the loss to RRQ Hoshi in the upper bracket, RSG PH was criticized for its lackluster performance with some even mocking the team after faltering in one of its biggest matches throughout the tournament.

The PH bets though didn’t back down to the challenge and worked their way back to set up a Grand Finals against the same team that beat them in the upper bracket.

With the crowd rooting and cheering for RRQ, RSG PH redeemed itself in a dominant fashion as it took down Indonesia's "King of Kings" with a 4-0 sweep.

After the match, the entire RSG team made sure to get back to the crowd with Nathzz flexing the trophy in his hands at the centerstage.

“Wala kaming gustong puruhan na team, gusto namin puruhan ‘yung mga fans. Yung mga nagsasabing ‘Phili-pause’, ano kayo ngayon?,” said Nathzz during an interview with the PH broadcast casters, referring to the remarks thrown against PH teams who were accused by opposing fans to be taking advantage of the game pauses to win the match.

During their post-game presser, Demonkite and Nathzz didn’t hold back at calling out their haters, making it known that they’re now the “Kings of the SEA’.

“Sa mga bashers namin, may napatunayan kami tsaka isa lang yung masasabi ko sa inyo, ang popogi niyo,” said Demonkite.

"Ang masasabi ko sa mga fans...sige bash lang kayo, yun lang kaya niyo eh. Ano? Champion kami eh, paano na iyan? Akala niyo RRQ magcha-champion eh bakit kami ngayon?," echoed Nathzz.
