The Medical City (TMC Iloilo) launched its molecular laboratory Monday, June 20, as part of its role in creating healthcare innovations.

“Positioned as a Center for Research Reference Laboratory for Clinical Trial Use, this will cater to more clinical trials and other related research that may lead to medical milestones and breakthroughs,” said Dr. Felix Ray Villa, TMC Iloilo chief executive officer (CEO).

“This will also be a game changer in the region’s healthcare landscape as we make clinical research more accessible,” Villa emphasized.

Aside from clinical trials, TMC Iloilo’s Molecular Laboratory is designed to make laboratory services more efficient by having faster turnaround time for results.

TMC Iloilo’s Molecular Laboratory also aims to help doctors treat infectious diseases sooner and more precise with its advanced systems.

“As a hospital known for our pioneering programs, we remain committed in bringing healthcare services closer to the Ilonggos. With our newly-opened molecular laboratory, we further affirm that commitment to our patient partners,” Villa added.
