In a statement, PSHS said that the awardees were announced on the official Facebook page of MOTLI.

Arvin C. Fajardo of PSHS-Central Luzon Campus, Princes D. Bulaclac of PSHS-CALABARZON Region Campus, and Rey Giovanni L. Villamora of PSHS-Central Visayas Campus were able to nurture the students’ mathematical intelligence through friendly academic competition and were among the 10 awardees nationwide.

Meanwhile, PSHS-Main Campus in Diliman, Quezon City was recognized as First Place Most Outstanding School Award for 2021 to 2022.

MOTLI is a non-stock and non-profit organization of professionals that aim to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills through face to face and online intensive Mathematics training, stringent screening of learners for International Mathematics Competitions, and active hosting for an International Mathematical Olympiad in the Philippines.

PSHS System Executive Director Lilia Habacon commended the Pisay math teacher awardees for this recognition.

“Behind the development of skills and values of students are teachers who commit themselves for the holistic development of their students,” Habacon said.

“Nurturing the mathematical skills of students is a significant part of logical thinking because mathematics helps in building problem-solving skills,” she added.

According to Habacon, mathematics is important in physical sciences, medicine, economics, technology, business, financial services, and many areas of information and communication technology.
