Isaac Go out for the season after multiple ligament tears on right knee

Isaac Go has been ruled out for the rest of the season after being diagnosed with multiple ligament tear on his right knee, a big blow to his young PBA career and to the campaign of the injury-plagued Terrafirma.

Dyip head coach Johnedel Cardel confirmed the setback to Manila Bulletin as Go sustained ACL, MCL and meniscus tears, joining Ed Daquioag and Alex Cabagnot in the team’s injury list.

Go is expected to go under the knife in the coming days while his recovery is expected to take at least a year according to Cardel. It’s the same case for Daquioag who will also undergo surgery for his fractured leg in the next couple of days.

“Wala na talaga siya for one year. May schedule na siya (for operation) waiting na lang dun sa doctor. Si Ed Daquioag isang taon din mangyayari. I think mamaya or bukas ooperahan na siya one year rin siyang mawawala,” said Cardel.

Go and Daquioag both suffered season-ending injuries during the Dyip’s 100-86 loss to Northport last Sunday. Aside from the two, Eric Camson also went down with an injury after a bad fall during that same game but fortunately, he is only expected to be out 10 days to two weeks.

With his key players out, Cardel now is looking at his remaining wards to step up their game as they search for their first victory in the season.

“Ang sinabi ko lang dun sa mga players na natira ko they have to step up kasi ganun talaga eh aksidente is aksidente,” shared Cardel.

“Kamalasan lang talaga yung nangyari, ‘yung mga natira kong players they’re willing to win pa rin naman without them, syempre idi-dedicate nila sa mga teammates nila na naaksidente, nainjure. I told them we just try our best kahit wala ‘yung mga importanteng players, magtulong-tulong sila para makuha namin ‘yung panalo.”
