Illegal drugs, assorted firearms seized from Aparri employee


APARRI, Cagayan -- An employee of Aparri was arrested by the authorities after being caught with firearms, ammunition and illegal drugs at his home in Brgy Maura in this town.

The suspect was identified as Wilfredo Aguilada II, 40.

The Philippine National Police Aparri, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Cagayan Provincial Police Office, PDEA RO2 Batanes Provincial Office and Naval Intelligence and Security Unit 12 raided the suspect's house in the said area at around 5 O’clock in the morning on June 13 on the strength of the search warrant No. 40-22 issued by Hon. Neljoe A. Cortes, Vice Executive Judge, Regional Trial Court Branch 6, Aparri, Cagayan.

Indicated in the search warrant are Aguilada’s alleged violations of RA No. 10591 and RA No. 9165.

Authorities seized a black sling bag, 31 pieces of ammunition for 9mm, six pieces of transparent plastic sachets, eight pieces of small packages containing suspected shabu, five lighters, three aluminum foils, four rounds of ammunition for in caliber .45, an Amscor 9mm pistol, a 9mm magazine with five bullets, a green sling bag, an STI EDGE caliber .45 pistol and three caliber .45 magazines loaded with seventeen bullets.

The suspect is now facing charges for violation of RA No. 10591 and RA No. 9165, according to the PNP.

Meanwhile, two others were arrested in a separate buy-bust operation in NVAT Compound, Brgy Almaguer North, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya.

Suspects were identified as John Michael Flores, a resident of Purok 2 Brgy. Macate, Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya and Crisenciano Dela Cruz of Purok 6, Indiana, Bambang.
