P646,000 shabu seized from tricycle driver in Parañaque


The Parañaque police's Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) confiscated 95 grams of suspected shabu amounting to P646,000 from a tricycle driver durig a buy-bust operation conducted on Friday, June 10.

Col. Maximo Sebastian, city police chief, identified the suspect as Mogeric Bayaoa, 42, and a resident of Parañaque City.

Sebastian said Bayaoa was arrested at around 4:30 a.m. along Tramo I, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

He said members of SDEU, in coordination with operatives from Sub-Station 4, conducted a buy-bust operation for the arrest of the suspect who was the subject of a complaint from the neighborhood in Barangay San Dionisio for his alleged links to illegal drug trade.

During the operation, the police seized 95 grams of suspected shabu worth P646,000, P1,000 cash used as buy-bust money and P6,000 boodle money.

The suspect is detained at the police custodial facility and was charged with possession of illegal drugs.

The police turned over to the Southern Police District (SPD) Forensic Unit the illegal drugs confiscated from the suspect for chemical analysis.

Meanwhile, SPD director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg commended the Parañaque City police for their hard work in anti-drug operations that led to the confiscation of the illegal drugs.

Macaraeg also said the chain flow supply of illegal drugs must be stopped to prevent it from being sold to users.
