Security guard, 6 others yield shabu, firearms in Taguig


Seven individuals, including a security guard, were arrested by the police after they yielded suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and firearms in Taguig on June 8 and 9.

Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg announced the arrest of security guard Eugenio Egbalic, 39, in Sitio Ato Site, Zone 7-B Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig.

The Taguig police’s Sub-station 2 personnel implemented a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Antonio Olivete of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 267.

During the operation, the police arrested the suspect and confiscated 12 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, weighing 24 grams with a value of P163,200 and one .28-caliber revolver with six live ammunition.

Egbalic is under the custody of Taguig Police for proper disposition. The suspected illegal drugs and firearm were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis and ballistics exam.

“Our police will continue to conduct operations against illegal drugs which has long been our problem not only in our area but throughout the country,” said Macaraeg.

On June 8, five drug suspects were arrested by the Taguig police’s Sub-station 9 personnel.

The suspects were identified as Marvin Valdez, 48, construction worker; Jojit de Guzman, 46, construction worker; Julie de Guzman, 50; Rodolfo Cipriano, 53; and Jude Jaca, 41.

Seized from them were five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 12.1 grams with a value of P42,840.

In Purok 6B Barangay Lower Bicutan, the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of suspect Ram Roi Sucgang, 27.

Confiscated from him were six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 18 grams valued at P122,400, one .22-caliber firearm and two pieces of live ammunition.

All suspects are under the custody of the police.
