The tournament serves as a qualifier for the World Gymnastics Championship set in Liverpool, England on Oct. 29 to Nov. 6.

Joining Yulo are John Matthew Vergara, Juancho Miguel Besana, Justine Ace De Leon, John Ivan Cruz and Jan Gwnn Timbang.

Accompanying them are Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) President Cynthia Carrion, coaches Munehiro Kugimiya and Reyland Capellan, and physiotherapist Jumpei Konno.

Yulo is expected to strut his stuff that won him the 2021 world title in vault and silver in parallel bars at the 50th FIG World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan.

This would also be the first international exposure for the PH men’s artistic gymnastics team after the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam last month where they won the silver medal in the team event.

Yulo is also banking on his SEAG performance where he went home with gold medals in individual all-around, floor exercise, rings, vault and horizontal bar, as well as a silver in the parallel bars.
