BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized more than one kilo of shabu valued at P6,868,000 from a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Purok Kawayanan, Barangay Banago here last Sunday, June 5.

Police identified the suspect as Napoleon Begasa III, 30, of Barangay Estefania here.

Police Lt. Joven Mogato, head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said that Begasa is considered a high-value individual because of the recovery of more than one kilo of suspected shabu from the suspect.

Mogato said that Begasa would usually stay in a house in Barangay Banago where he probably transacts with his clients in the illegal drugs trade.

Mogato said it took them three weeks to monitor Begasa who allegedly transacts with some food delivery riders.

He said they are verifying the allegation of Begasa that the contraband was sourced out from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

In 2018, Negros Occidental recorded its biggest drug haul of P72-million worth of suspected shabu in San Carlos City, which came from Manila, passed by Cebu City, and entered the shoreline of Negros Island between the boundaries of Calatrava and San Carlos through a pump boat.

Begasa is detained at the Police Station 3.
