Recently debuted rapper and hip-hop artist, DAZE, collaborates with Nik Makino for his third single “G.G.D.”; a hip-hop, trap, and R&B track set to release on June 17 (Friday), midnight.
Discovered and debuted at the height of the health pandemic, DAZE released his first single, “Diwata” featuring TikTok Artist Zendee last August 2021. Said track was placed in hit Spotify playlists such as “Kalye Hip-Hop”, “Bago Sa Rap”, and “OPM Rising” with the likes of Skusta Clee, Alisson Shore, and Nik Makino. The latter whom DAZE used to just be playlist-colleagues with is now a featuring artist in his upcoming single, “G.G.D.”.

“G.G.D. is short for good girl drug. It’s a hip-hop and rap track about (our) weakness to good girls”, says DAZE. This almost one year in the making collab track was kept under wraps for so long. With complications brought by the lockdown, pandemic, and distance, recording and producing ‘G.G.D.’ was challenging but just like courting a lady, good ones are always worth the challenge.
When asked what it was like to collaborate with Nik Makino, DAZE was all praise and felt humbled. “It feels fulfilling to collab with an artist like Nik. I’m a fan of his since his early vlogging days. I even name dropped him in my second single, ‘Araw Araw, Ikaw’ and sent the track to him.” says DAZE. He added that it feels like he’s walking in the right direction when he gets to work with artists such as Nik Makino.
On “G.G.D”, the soon-to-be-released single, DAZE hints that it’s a trancelike track that will get you to vibe for hours. “Nandiyan yung hooks, play on words, at vibe na uulit-ulitin niyo nang walang sawa. Para sa mga naghahanap ng G.G.D., ito na ‘yun!” DAZE teases.
