AQ Prime, the latest streaming service to rival Netflix and others, will go live and will be available for download in the app stores before the end of the month of June. Its strongest suit is its tie-up with Korean partners, and they have acquired exclusive Korean entertainment  titles to be shown on the platform.

During the launch period, AQ Prime will offer P1 subscription for the first month and as low as P99 per month for the regular service. Subscribers will be able to access thousands of hours of streaming entertainment on all smartphones and TVs across the Philippines, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, South Korea, and North America.

Aside from this, customers will also be able to access pay-per-view live sporting events, shows, and festivals, rent-to-view adult movies, and Filipino independent films.

In his speech during the launch at Conrad Hotel in Pasay City, AQ Prime President and CEO Aldwin Alegre said that as part of their collaboration with Korean partners, "our local filmmakers, lead actors, and production houses have now the opportunity to work alongside international filmmakers ."

"In due time, our local movies will not only be shot and produced in different places here in our country. They will be filmed outside the Philippines , particularly in South Korea," he stated.

Atty. Mary Melanie “Honey” Quiño, Chief Operations Officer of AQ Prime, also confirmed that they are drawing up finishing touches for their talent development unit where Filipino actors will have the chance to showcase their talents in Korean films and K-dramas which are highly-watched by Filipinos."

Atty. Alegre added that the company finds fulfillment in providing employment to members of the film industry during the pandemic and in making homesick OFWs happy through the entertainment provided by AQ Prime.

"Local entertainment may not be just local any more through this Over-the-Top platform or OTT. Through the cooperation of our partners from South Korea, AQ Prime will introduce Filipino culture abroad and highlight the magnificence of our country," Alegre declared.

AQ Prime's platform includes a separate app called Director’s Cut by AQ, which is dedicated for sexy and mature contents — both teeming with original titles produced by AQ as well as acquired titles from Korea and other territories.
