Newcomer Converge signed Jeo Ambohot, Justin Arana and Kurt Lojera to rookie deals Friday, May 27 as part of its buildup for the PBA’s 47th season which tips off June 5.

The three players officially became members of the FiberXers after meeting with Albert Custodio, Converge’s senior human resources director, to finalize their respective deals.

Also in the meeting were Ambohot’s agent Edgar Mangahas and Arana’s representative Alvin Torno.

Ambohot and Arana were selected third and fourth by Converge in the draft last May 15 while Lojera was acquired from Blackwater in exchange for veteran center Yousef Taha.

Converge has high hopes on Ambohot after being a vital cog in Letran’s unbeaten run to the NCAA Season 97 championship and Arana, who during the same season emerged as a premier frontcourt player for Arellano University.

Lojera, a southpaw cager out of UAAP side De La Salle University, was taken ninth by Blackwater as Converge was able to strike a deal earlier this week.

Converge is hoping to make a good impression in its maiden foray in the big league after completing the purchase of the fabled Alaska franchise in March.

The FiberXers retained Jeffrey Cariaso as coach and key players like Jeron Teng, Mike DiGregorio and Allyn Bulanadi, among others.
