PCOO all set for Marcos' inauguration

The communications office of the President is already prepared for the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on June 30.

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Undersecretary Kris Ablan said Friday the PCOO is ready for the event as Communications Secretary Martin Andanar already ordered the activation of teams both from Radio Television Malacañang and the Philippine Information Agency.

Other media outfits may still have to wait for clearance from the Presidential Security Group to personally cover the inauguration in line with Covid-19 protocols.

With regards to requiring mediamen to present negative Covid-19 test result, Ablan said they "have to defer to the PSG" on this matter.

"Buhay po ng ating outgoing President at incoming President ang nakasalalay (The lives of the outgoing and incoming presidents are at stake). So, we will abide by the protocols of the Presidential Security Group," he said.

The attendance of outgoing President Duterte to the inauguration of his daughter and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio is still unclear.

"We have to wait for the announcement coming from my colleagues," Ablan said.
