Acer has set its eyes to a future of highly-advanced devices, the ones that even Mother Earth would approve.

In a reiteration of Acer’s commitment to support a more sustainable future for the planet, the new Vero, including new Vero laptops, an all-in-one desktop, monitors, projector and peripherals was unveiled and stamped “sustainable” as all use a percentage of PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic, OBP (Ocean-bound Plastic) and recyclable packaging.

Acer Pan Asia Pacific president Andrew Hou said this expansion is not just about promoting and selling green products but also involves educating the market on the importance of going green and offer consumers, businesses and institutions more options to reduce their ecological footprint.

“Traditionally, mature countries would be more willing to buy green PCs but if we’re talking about percentage, the people who care about the earth, in mature countries and Southeast Asia it’s the same. About 5 percent really care. The challenge is how to expand that percentage to 10 percent, to 15 percent, to 20 percent,” said Hou.

The new products include two new sustainably-designed Aspire Vero laptops that come with the latest 12th Gen Intel Core processors, 14- and 15-inch Full HD displays and attractive new color options. In addition to the signature Cobblestone Grey color, Vero laptops are now also available in Mariana Blue.

Since they have Intel’s Evo certification, both laptops will provide a smooth computing experience with features like instant wake, quick responsiveness, industry-leading battery life and fast charging. They also come with Intel’s powerful Xe integrated graphics and plenty of DDR4 memory, up to 1TB of SSD storage.

The new Aspire Vero laptop’s chassis utilizes 30 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, which is durable and rigid and saves 21 percent in carbon emissions for the production of the chassis. The laptop’s screen bezel uses 30 percent PCR plastic and the keycaps use 50 percent PCR plastic, further reducing the computer’s footprint, while no paint is used on the chassis.

To extend the lifespan of the laptops, the process of making repairs and upgrades is more convenient with a bottom cover that’s easily removed with standard screws for replacing the RAM and SSD.

The laptop’s inner packaging is a cleverly-designed multipurpose box with an inner partition that can be folded into a triangular laptop stand to protect the device without the need for anything but 85 percent recycled paper, plus a 100 percent industrial recycled plastic (PIR) laptop sleeve and an additional sheet of 100 percent PIR plastic that sits between the laptop’s display and keys.

Vero Keyboard and Mouse

The Veriton Vero AIO desktop was created for work-from-home users that prioritizes space-saving form factors over anything else. The internals can go up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 CPU, optional NVIDIA GeForce MX550 GPU, 64GB DDR4-3200 RAM, and 2TB PCIe SSDs.

The USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports let you connect to external storage at a blazing fast speed while the Wi-Fi 6E module delivers reliable and quick Internet speed.

The CB273 27-inch IPS monitor features an eco-friendly design that uses 85 percent PCR and 5 percent OBP for the manufacturing of the entire unit. Rated with color accuracy of Delta E <1, this monitor delivers rich and accurate colors. It also has TUV RheinlandEyesafe certification which emits less blue light while the KVM switch allows you to switch between multiple computers. The USB-C port on the back can power devices up to 90W.

The 23.8-inch B247Y G has a slightly different design and smaller form factor. It is the same as the CB273 except for the inclusion of the KVM switch.

Meanwhile, the new Vero PD2325W projector is more efficient because it uses 50 percent less power for operation and the LED source can last up to 30,000 hours.

With a higher 2 million to 1 contrast ratio, 2.2K lumens brightness, and WXGA resolution, the PD2325W is capable of producing clear and precise projections aided by the Auto Keystone Correction feature and extended 125 percent REC. 709 color gamut.

The official Vero Mouse and Keyboard combo were created with 65 percent PCR plastic and 30 percent OBP. Both peripherals can run up to 18 months off a full battery while the Vero keyboard houses switches that can last up to 5 million clicks. The mouse and keyboard work silently, thanks to the wireless connectivity.

The Vero lineup of products was initiated under Earthion, Acer’s mission to leverage its strengths, supply chain partners, customers and employees to develop innovative and integrated solutions to help tackle environmental issues for a more sustainable future. Earthion’s objectives include Acer’s RE100 commitment to source 100% renewable energy by 2035, more eco-friendly product designs, and the reduction of Acer’s supply chain carbon footprint.
