Andanar said this after Marcos Jr.'s spokesman Vic Rodriguez confirmed on May 25 that Angeles accepted the nomination.

In a statement, Andanar wished Angeles well in her new assignment, noting that the lawyer is a PCOO graduate herself.

"The PCOO welcomes the nomination of Atty. Rose Beatrix 'Trixie' Cruz-Angeles to head the PCOO under the incoming administration," he said Wednesday noon.

"Atty. Angeles is no stranger to PCOO having served the office during the early years of the Duterte Administration," he added.

"We wish Atty. Angeles all the best in her latest assignment," we continued.

Angeles, a known supporter of President Duterte, was part of the PCOO as chief social media strategist from 2017 to 2018.

Under the incoming administration, her role will be limited to a "talking head" during media briefings, Rodriguez said.

Angeles was suspended by the Supreme Court for three years in 2016 over a complaint filed against her in 2003 concerning an annulment case she handled.

She was the lawyer of Oakwood mutineer and former Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon. She also defended expelled members of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) Lowell Menorca II and Lottie Manalo-Hemedez in their cases against the church.

Angeles was also part of the late Chief Justice Renato Corona's legal team during his impeachment trial in 2012.
