LAGUNA – Authorities arrested two suspects behind a restaurant holdup in Luisiana on Monday, May 23.
According to the report from the Laguna Provincial Police Office (PPO), suspects Ronilo Espinosa and Arnold Ilagan held the cashier of the restaurant at gunpoint, took money from the cash register, and fled on a motorcycle.
Upon receiving the report from Luisiana Municipal Police Station (MPS), the Laguna PPO immediately alerted surrounding police stations to conduct a hot pursuit operation.
At a Commission on Elections checkpoint in a neighboring town, Cavinti MPS operatives flagged down two men fitting the description of the suspects that led to their arrest.
Authorities confiscated from the suspects a .45 caliber pistol with live ammunition and bullets. They also recovered P5,250 from them.
In a statement, Laguna PPO Director Col Cecilio R. Ison Jr. praised the swift coordination between local police stations that led to the arrest of the suspects.
